Nice rig. The finish is original, notice the extracter which is in the red, a trait of 38 dated Mausers. Just compared to 'S' to that of my 1938 S/42 and it's absolutely correct. Is it worth the $3400? The Luger market is very soft right now, so that's pretty objective, but it's a sound investment and a nice (rare) example so you probably can't go wrong. I'd be most concerned with the authenticity of the two matching mags and want to have a look at those numbers, that's where you most commonly see faking.
