IIRC, Stoeger registered the name "Genuine Luger" with the patent office (trademark?); they were the only ones (here in US) who could call it that...in advertising, anyway...

When Mauser brought out their line of Lugers in the 70's, didn't they have to call theirs the "Mauser Parabellum" due to Stoeger's trademarking the name "Luger"???
