Hello Alvin,
Concerning the manual, it is only a list of all gauges for all the weapons in service in 1937. It is associating the number (each gauge has a different id number stamped on it) with the related weapon and the gauge use. You can see this in my web site; in the pictures, each gauge is placed on the manual page describing it. You can read the gauge number and on the page you can see the information I just mentioned.
