Generally the Russian reworks were just dipped without polishing. Even worn bore barrels and orig mags were retained. Grips may have been replaced with several types or colors of wood or plastic ones. DDR reworks will most ofter be polish, parts renumbered or "X"ed out to match, and hot dip blued. Worn barrels were replaced with new ones, that are usually C/N proofed and sometimes dated. Grips were usually replaced with the concentric circle "bullseye" brown to black plastic grips and two new 2/1001 marked extruded mags were numbered to the gun. If issued, they sometimes have DDR unit markings. TH
