I have a 1937 S/42 and i am scared to use modern ammo. A gun dealer recommanded 9mm +P+ ammo, bacause the ammo because of the mechanismn of the luger.
but I am really scared to blow off the gun.

Hi:
Original DWM ammo was 123 grains at 1,076 fps, through the late 1930's. I've never seen ANY original German ammo listed with hotter specs. anywhere in the original German texts, never.
Hot 9X19 ammo came into commercial circulation much, much later. The "needs hot ammo to work" myth is just that, pure myth!!
If you want to beat your Luger's to death, then use the hot ammo as suggested by many of the "experts" out there.
