Many lugers were used in WW2 that never recieved any nazi markings...

Ones issued or bought by / to an officer or an NCO who had it before the nazi's would likely not receive anything, or those that were put in storage.

Or you'll find a WW1 w/ Weimar AND Nazi markings; it all depends on if it went through any official channels / reburb etc., if it needed anything done to it...
