So it sounds as though neither ERMA nor any other makers made units specifically intended for the Swiss guns (or the early 1900 types)? I'm thinking primarily pre or immediatly post war so the mauser parabellums don't really fit here. I have owned a number of the conversions and have one of the long box units right now but they were all for 9mm barrels and do not fit the .30's. There is a sleeve on most of these conversion barrels to allow its use in any of the standard length barrels so barrel length is not a problem. I guess the biggest issue is the bore diameter. I think the 1900's would have required a different insert barrel in any case due to the slightly different location of the bolt face in relation to the main toggle link pin.
I suppose the reasoning behind the post is to try and figure out if there is any reason I can't make a new insert barrel to fit my Swiss Lugers and expect them to work properly. The magazine hangs up a little in my 06 Bern but works fine in the 06/29. The toggle fits both guns fine and works properly. I don't mind doing the work to make the barrel but I hate to waste the blank if the system won't work.....

Thanks
Biff
