AWM 15 LP08 Holster
This is one of my recent acquisitions, a AWM 15 LP08 Holster in wonderful condition.
I bought it with the help of my friend and mentor George Anderson.
These rare holsters have been manufactured in Munchen, as a test, while the official LP08 holster is adopted several months ago in May 1914.
AWM 15 and Eugen Huber 1915 holsters have several specificities:
-the back is made of hard leather, but it has a different shape (larger) than the back of the official holster.
-the front is made of soft leather,
-the flap is sewn directly on the back, without a hinge.
-the two sides of the flap are closed with a rivet.
-the pouches of the tool and cleaning rod are sewn inside the holster.
-the closure strap on the front is different and the hole is lower.
Look at the front of the holster: it has the taste and the appearance of pigskin leather, but it is not pigskin made. This is cow hide leather that has been beautifully textured. These holsters were manufactured only in 1915, and the production ended rapidly, probably because they were very fragile and not practical.
