Yes, Mauser did a couple of target versions, including ergonomic grips, adjustable rear sight, adjustable trigger pull and special bull barrels for target shooting.
The alternative threading of the MP should make it easier to thread and install the barrel, at least that was what they had in mind when they made the changes.
