Just heard on the radio yesterday (NY market... paraphrasing from memory):

"Mexican officials are dealing with some of the worst drug violence in the country's history. They are also contending with a smuggling issue that goes the other way. Most of the military style weapons being used against Mexican police are coming from U.S. gunshows. We need to find a way to close this loophole."

Oh yes, it has begun!
