Default Re: Aron, pls contact me off list. Thx.

Aaron, I have looked over your holster and the photos are actually too close up for me to make a definitive statement as to original origin. If you would like to Email me photos of the piece from a little farther away I could tell you for sure if it is indeed original or a fake. I can tell you right now that it appears to have all the hallmarks of an original. The bottom of the belt loops have lines marked into the leather between the stitching. Not seen on any fakes I have observed. There are several markers on holsters that the German Sadtlers used in construction, Pin pricks marking placement and lines where to sew etc. The stitching is a little closer together than I like but I have found that there were holsters made with this tight stitch. The stampings look correct, you will notice the long one in 1941. Like John said if it prooves to be a fake someone has done their homework. Send me some closeups but the whole back. Much more can be determined from the back than from the front. The closure buckle looks period too, nice patina with a little rust. I have seen quite a few of these with the original paint predominant. Let me know...Jerry, lugerholsterrepair@yahoo.com
