Chris,

Davis's book is full of misinformation, search for the review I posted on these Forums when it first became available. Frankly, all the literature is pretty light when it comes to commercial Luger variations; the most informative is probably Jan Still's Weimar Lugers. The best and most current information about Commercial Lugers is to be found in the discussions on this Forum and Jan Still's Forum.

The GERMANY stamped barrel suggests that the barrel was imported into the US as a separate item, and assembled onto the pistol after it arrived here. It would be useful to know the full serial number of the gun and any other markings on the barrel, and of course any photographs would be of interest.
