Hi, the hold-open usually needs replacing when the little leaf spring holding it in place is broken. If everything is in good nick, you may want to describe problems you may have.
The Part is L-shaped and held in place by that little spring. Lifting the back of the holdopen above it's recess should be enough to gently pull it out towards the back.
