GT..This is an interesting question that could be expanded on some. Like reproduction holsters..there is not much profit there. The market is saturated with cheap ones.
One must concentrate on the rare to have any interest or profit.
Like john says..there are no quality 6" barrels..
There is a short list of rare original parts..not just Luger parts.
One I have found in short supply is an Artillery stock iron spring. They are just impossible to find. Most people don't even know what they look like...Or that a stock iron even HAS a spring! That's another subject..
Anyway..there are rare and seldom found QUALITY parts. The main trouble is this..lets say you were able to produce a really high quality part like an Artillery stock iron spring. The time and effort to do it would be tremendous! How many would you sell over the rest of your life? Likely not enough to make such an effort worthwhile.
When you need a part like this you really need it though...
