That sounds like a lot, but take out the ones destroyed during the war, take out the ones destroyed after the war, take out the ones tossed in the ocean by GI's (US, Canadian and Brits) who thought they'd get into trouble, then take into account guns destroyed because of idiots, crime etc and there are probably 10-5% still around.... So, say 10%, that is 3,800 guns... (all a WAG btw)

So point is, some guns like the 1940 / 42 are much easier to find, as they made maybe 180,000 of them, so that leaves 18,000 of them in the USA....
