When the safety bar is in the up position (so that the "Gesichert" is visible) the bar should block the outward movement of the rear portion of the sear bar, thus preventing the drop of the firing pin.

If you can make the firing pin drop with the safety bar in this position, then someone has ground down the sear engagement to an unsafe amount of engagement with the firing pin and the sear and/or the firing pin will have to be replaced.
