Thanks for your interest,we in the Channel Islands are British,but not part of the UK.We are subjects of the Queen of England,not the UK parliment.We have no MPs in the UK parliment, plus we are also not part of the European Union.We have our own Govt ,and the Island of Jersey which is roughly 20 to 25% larger than us also has the same type of juristriction as us, but has a completely different type of Govt.But they both seem to work ok for each Island.Guernsey & Jersey do however have similar gun laws,We were occupied by the German Army etc From June 1940 till May 1945.They left so many weapons behind,that our authorities thought it easier to issue licences and let people keep what they had than have it all go underground.Also people here are pretty law abiding,compared to many other places we seem to tick along quite well without to much trouble.If you ever get the chance they are both worth visiting,The people are very friendly.Best regards Kesrtaal
