Eustace, welcome to the forum. An original artillery barrel would have an artillery sight, yours does not.

It should also have the serial number and a # such as 8,82 on the bottom of the barrel.

A "normal" witness marking would be in the middle, best way to see it is to do a search here on the forum for "witness markings".

We would apprecaite if you would post pictures here on the forum, not on a web hosting site.
