Brian,

Your unit mark B.2.T.S.1.99. is "Bayerisches, 2 Train-Bataillon, SanitÃ?Â¤ts-Kompagnie 1, Waffe Nr. 99"; translates as Bavarian, Second Train Battalion, First Medical Company, weapon #99. These were weapons issued to medical personnel in mobile support columns, probably ambulancers.

There have been two discussions of 1911 DWM issued to Bavarian Train-Bataillons on Jan Still's Luger Forum:

There are small databases of these guns in the discussions, it would be useful to know the script letter suffix present below the serial number on the front of your frame in order to add a new data point.

We would certainly like to see better photos, overall and details, of your Luger.
