Not looked at the forum for a while â?? too much work !

From my understanding of the German army and the regimental marking system, I think the marking â??Ers. Batl. J.R. 114. 5. Kompâ? equates to the Replacement Battalion of the 114th Jager (Infantry) Regiment 5th Company.

This is not the same as the marking â??R.114.5. 12â? which equates to the 5th Company of the 114th Infantry Regiment.

The Replacement Battalion (as the name implies) existed to process replacements for the main regiment.

So the markings on the P 08 belong to the same regiment but not the same company.

The full name of the regiment -

6. Badisches Infanterie-Regiment Kaiser Friedrich III Nr.114 which was based in Konstanz in Baden in Southern Germany
