Welcome to the Lugerforum. I don't have time to say much at the moment, but congrats on inheriting this piece of history. DO NOT dispose of or shoot the ammo. It is collectible in its own right if it is original to the gun.

The gun was manufactured by Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabrik, the original manufacturer. If no parts have been replaced since manufacture it would be considered all matching numbers. Depending on the finish condition, it could be quite valuable... Please post photos of the gun. Closeups of both sides, the top, the stamps on both sides, the front of the frame, and marks, if any on the barrel. Then we can tell you much more.
