Your Luger would be a WWII military rework done sometime after 1936, when the S/42 Mauser code was adopted. Many Artillery Lugers either had the barrel shortened or, as in your case, replaced.
DWM only put the sight cut on the Artillery model. From 1916 through 1918 all Erfurt Lugers , including 4", were made with the Artillery sight cut.
The 9.33 (provisional unit mark ?) on the back could have been placed there anytime during or after WWI. Probably during the Weimar era 1919 to mid 1920s, and as late as early 1937. It could indicate 9th Regiment weapon #33. Without a clear photo, I can't be certain.

You say your Luger came with a 1942 cyq (holster?). 1942 dated holsters in nice condition are desirable.
