I wonder if the gun was arsenal refurbished and was issued like that . If so its not really mis matched depending on what definition you are using !?

The matching mag adds considerable value and authenticity.
But its real value is as an heirloom and an important part of your family and countries military heritage . If it were my grandfathers gun that he bought back from the war,I would consider it "priceless"

Can I suggest you write down and document where possible everything you or anyone else knows about it . This will add provenance and value to the piece , and document it for the future . Do it now before it is all forgotten and ends up in the dustbin of history like so much else has.
