The number 883 is actuall 8,83 if you look closely. That is the measurement (in millimeters) of the bore diameter when the pistol was manufactured. The little "flowers" on the right side of the receiver are actually Doves. They are the Weimar Acceptance Stamps - I think. Ed is the expert on these, and I'm sure he will help you out on this.
