Yes, that what I am told, but Harry Jones books dont really show them with shorter spring where he shows spring lengths, weights, and turns for many models. Kind of a strip and measure the springs chart. I would imagine the extra barrel lengths COULD possibly cause high velocitys over the 4" which would result in greater recoil compensating for some or all the extra mass. The one I did a couple of years ago had a stout spring and my reloads (I dont remember what they were) worked the first time. I know that is a trick that some use, to make them work a little better with std pressure loads. A slightly hotter load and a std spring might work just fine too! I think Tom Heller has a lot of experience in this regard! Thor
