Brown or Black would be suitable... You find both from the WW2 era.
IMHO the price was acceptable for this shooter...

Both the sideplate and the takedown lever are Swiss ... the toggle is WW1, and the frame, as you have been told is Mauser or WW2...

It should shoot fine... and with the exception of the Swiss parts, it could very well have been used in WW2 just as it is. Lots of WW1 pistols were recycled for use during WW2. The sideplate and takedown lever were probably replaced recently...
