For the short term I donâ??t see a problem with zip lock bags but you should know that any dust particles trapped between the plastic and gun will act just like sand paper.
Unless youâ??re in a laboratory environment your gun will have dust on it and you will get scratches even though they will be hard to see.
I have had an occasional problem with bags being incompatible with certain oils causing the release of chlorides that left in contact with your guns finish for a long period will cause galvanic corrosion and severely pit your finish.

I just donâ??t think itâ??s worth the risk!

I really like the idea of storing the guns suspended in air using a dowel in the barrel; I live in a humid, salty area and have never had a problem as long as the guns are coated with good oil.
