Tac,
I asked my gunsmith buddy the same question. Keep in mind the owner of the Luger is not a collector nor is he a fancier or firearms. He inherited the Luger from a family member who alledgedely received it from a WWII vet. How and where he came up this price is a mystery. Certainly not the gunsmith, as he called me and asked if he should offer $3000 or so which I agreed was the outer limit.
