Hi,

Yes, the .30 luger round is shorter than the 7.63 Mauser / 7.62 Tokarev version.

The .30 luger / 7.65 Parabellum has a case length of some .893 - .850 inches, while the 7.63 Mauser / 7.62 Tokarev has a case length of .962 - 1 inch.

The OAL of the .30 luger is some 1.130 - 1.187 inches,
the OAL of the .30 Mauser is some 1.365 - 1.378.

The difference is some good .20 inches in length on average.
