Jan, Here is the best magnification I could get (from the photos posted already) of the numbers under the barrel. The first letter is definitely a "P" but the second one could be a "5" or a "3" or even an "8" or "9"... They don't look the same age as the bore diameter (8.81) marking to me... but that could also just be the photo...
Perhaps 'mauser' could rephotograph this area in better light and sharper focus...
