I use a toothbrush,warm water and Dawn dish washing soap to clean grips. Just don't get the wood saturated with water. And scrub very gently with the toothbrush. When the suds turn brown, rinse and repeat. Don't over do it.

Sponge off excess water with paper towels. Let them dry naturally, and apply about three light coats of Danish Furniture oil. The base ingredient is Tung oil, so regular Tung oil would probably work fine. I dab it on with cotton balls.

Just remember, lightly, don't over due it. DON'T use linseed. It will darken and soften the wood. It saturates and separates the wood fibers.
