I once replaced a breech block on an Artillery that I reworked and I never knew what caused the problem with it's original damaged breech block not being able to remain loaded. You would load the gun and then after a few seconds, you would here the plunger come out of the back of the breech with a "sproung" sound! I now know what happened to this gun in a previous era!
