Welcome to the Lugerforum... Your byf 41 is one of the finest examples of Mauser's firearm expertise... it is a shame that someone insulted it with a flashy gold finish and pearl grips... I agree with General Patton's opinion on the pearl grips...

Under the circumstances, having it properly refinished was not sinful... since the collector value has been dramatically reduced... do enjoy it on the shooting range... it should dazzle you with its ability to group its shots... I owned one that would shoot ragged one hole groups at 25 yards...

I totally concur with TACfoley's estimate of its value being what you have in it.
