"Strawing" refers to the "Straw" yellow color of the trigger, take down lever, magazine release, safety lever and ejector bar. The color was obtained by controlled heat treating. It was discontinued in 1937 with the change over to hot salt bluing by Mauser.

Thanks for the info, would you consider the ejector bar to have "strawing finish on it", if so. Would that mean that it is not supposed to be on this '41 dated Luger?
