We have talked a lot on this subject! I think a good search of the archives will demonstrate a lot of info on fake BW grips. I think the threaded hole theory holds water as I remember it, but be aware, there were some original late war Krieghoff Black plastic grips that wont take a grip screw, but the Mauser made ones do as I remember it!
