Jerry is quite right, this is a postwar P38 manufactured in Ulm (West-Germany at the time) in the late 1950's, and so has no association with WW2 or Iron crosses. In addition, I believe Walther did not offer a factory plated option other than on their engraved pistols, so it is unfortunately likely to be a custom job.
