Heers Zeugamt (HZa) inspection marks are an evolving study. Heers Zeugamts were Army weapons depots, located in various cities around Germany. The stamps were usually (though not always) surmounted by a stylized eagle, and the letters and numbers denoted the city and depot number. Because some of the parts so stamped were very small size, the individual letters and numbers are often too small to identify acccurately, and sometimes were abbreviated.

HZaJt18 is a very common HZa stamp encountered on Lugers. It identifies Army Weapons Depot (Heers Zeugamt = HZa) Ingolstadt (Jngolstadt = Jt) depot number 18. The t in Jt is very often mistaken for an L.

Another very common HZa mark is Su25, Heers Zeugamt number 25 in Spandau (Su).
