I must of read the same reports. I too did not expect much and was quite taken with the results. The other thing that always bugged me was all the talk about how much better a P38 was compared to a P08. They are easier(cheaper) to make. And the P38's I've shot, shot well. But I have seen lots of P38's with missing extractors (it was there a minute ago) and that top plate that holds the firing pin and chamber indicator has a habit of taking off as well.

I'm not wanting to start a bar room fight, but the P-38s I have owned were not accurate at all.
The Bundeswehr had a joke about their P-1s (P-38s)..."eight warning shots and an aimed throw". This says it all for me.
