Iâ??m turning my attention to the Lugers produced by V.E.B. Ernest Th¤lmann in East Germany in the 1950s, and this is a call for data.
Iâ??m looking for comprehensive descriptive information:
Serial Number
Stamped 1001 or not?
Barrel date (three digits)
What proofs are on:
â?¦barrel
â?¦receiver
â?¦frame (and location)
â?¦breechblock
â?¦center toggle
â?¦rear toggle
Police inspectorâ??s stamp (starburst-shield-number) if present
Center toggle mfg. stamp or not?
Lanyard loop or not?
â?¦lanyard relief milled into rear frame?
Stock lug or not?
Sear safety?
â?¦if not, is it drilled and milled for one?
Unit marks?
Magazine marks?
Any etched parts?
Any surplus (e.g. previous-era stamped) parts?
Any interesting details or comments?
Several of these guns have already been posted. I have recorded detailed information from sn. N1008 and N1030, and some info for sn 3798. I have a bit of information for sn 372. Sn N1043 is pictured in Marschall and sn 55 in Die Pistole 08, but other than being able to extract the numbers for these there is no other data.
I recall a discussion thread on one of the Forums which ended up including details on two of these guns, but thatâ??s not where the discussion started. I canâ??t seem to track this discussion down, if it rings a bell with anyone Iâ??d appreciate the link.
If you have one of these Lugers please post the information (and photographs if you have them), or email me

Thanks to everyone for your forbearance on these data quests, and for your continued help.
