Bought today at local swap meet
Today there were no gun shows within reasonable traveling distance, so I went to the local swap meet, and found what looks like a very unusual item. It is a heavy glass paperweight about 4" by 3" and about 1/2" thick. Embedded in the glass is a mirrored image showing the SS runes and a picture of a Luger. There is an inscription and the date "1936." The inscription says: "Fur Erinnerung an meine Dienstzeit," which the best translation I can come up with is "In memory of my time in service." There are oak leaf decorations all around the borders. It appears to be original to me, as I have never seen one of these before. I would like to know if anyone else is familiar with this item.
