Tac: I'd sooner have my nether regions hot blued than refinish any valuable military firearm in my collection! Dings, dents, finish wear and the like constitute the silent and proud history of these weapons...to deprive them of that legacy is heresy in my book...
Here are some add'l pics of the sideplate; I'm interested in finding out if it had been refinished in the past. As for the "canon", I'm unfamiliar with that term re: lugers...which part is that?
