Hi Travis, 41 byf, S/N 7581w, was completed about August 1941.

IMO anything after about the 41 byf T-Block could have black Bakelite grips. I don't think there is a definate block or blocks that were shipped with these grips. They seem to be scattered throughout the late 1941 and 1942 byf coded Lugers.

If the wooden grips are numbered to the pistol, they might be original, but who knows!!

BTW, there is no official Luger named "Black Widow". That is an American Dealer's name for lesser desirable Lugers so he would be able to sell Lugers with black grips easier. It worked!! They now demand a higher price than wooden grip Lugers, all else being equal. I still like the wooden grips better!!
