A friend of mine decided to make his own suppressor for his AK-47. I'm sure some of you know where this is going. He took an empty 2 Liter bottle of Coke, stuffed it full of rags and paper towels, fit the opening of the bottle over the end of the barrel and attached it with multiple layers of duct tape then covered the entire bottle with several layers of duct tape to give it "increased strength".
Well, what my friend didn't think to do is put a hole in the bottle to allow for the pressure to be released. He fired the rifle, the chamber pressure increased as it had nowhere to go, and the rags and paper inside the soda bottle caught fire as the bottle exploded sending flames a good 15 feet out of the barrel. Somehow the barrel did not get destroyed and the worst injury he suffered was a loss of arm hair and a bit of embarassment because another friend video taped it.
By the way, is the $200 a one-time fee or is it a yearly hassle?
