We have built a few with long barrels (10,5") and with handguards.
The tang for the handguard was in our version welded on to the frame and the there was big problems if the barrel gets to heavy.
Under all circumstanses the recoilspring have to be replaced or cut down considerably.
We have also tought about making a gasbleeding hole on the underside of the barrel to work with gaspreasure on the tang in order to gasassist the opening of the action.
But so far we have never tried the gasversion.
I have looked on a few original Lugercarbines in .30 cal and the recoilsprings was extremely week on those.
It felt like they where to week to work properly but i havent testfired those guns.
