I have made this mistake many times, and it is irritating. Have gotten better (unless they treat me like an idiot) then they can keep the "item". but I have offered $50 less for something I wanted, and have gone back and gotten it feeling that, if I want it for $350, then $400 is okay too....
That said, more than once I have walked around the show trying to decide if I wanted the item and went back, and got there just as it was being sold. I make much faster decisions than I used to, either I want it and stay looking at it and talking to the "owner" or decide against it
