Any way of knowing a period-correct pantograph-job from a recent-day job ???

Maybe the old pantographs would show some minor chips/dents along the cut numbers and the more recent work would look "fresh" ???

The Scott engraving machines (pantographing units) are run via PC's now days and any letter/number font and size is easy to input to the machine's cutting apparatus.
