When it comes to firearms legislation, and the Bill of Rights in general, I am very cynical (and not without good reason).

I'm also old enough to know from experience that what a politician says has nothing whatsoever to do with what he is thinking and planning.

Past actions, to me, prove that both Democrats and Republicans have a total ban of firearms on their agenda. The pro and con positions they expound publicly are merely vote getting devices and/or smokescreens. The democrats are willing to openly advocate destroying the 2nd ammendment, while the Republicans, in order to keep up appearances, are willing to let it happen more slowly and behind-the-scenes. Neither group is to be trusted one iota.
