Hi guys, I just got a Luger from my uncle who just past away.
Now unfortunately he didn't tell my anything about it accept that he took it off a German hostage during WW2. Now I don't know much about guns especially Lugers so please forgive the questions. Im just interested in knowing the history and value(although I would never sell it) of the gun. I would like to get as much info on it as possible so any help is appreciated.
Now on the top of the gun(along the barrel) there is an "S" then a sword and anchor then the word SUHL then number "84". Just like on "logo" page number 2 -second one down on this website.
On the side of the gun there is the number "1884" then the number "84" twice again and the word "GESICHERT" right by the saftey.
In front of the trigger there is the number "1884" again.
On the back the number "84" appears again.
On the butt of the gun on the mag there is the number "6324" and the number 53 and a weird symbol that somewhat looks like a handwriiten "m" or "n" but not quite the same, its very strange and I have not been able to find it on this site under all the "proof" pages.
I have a second mag with the number 1884 on it.
Now I don't actually have the gun in my possesion yet(its at my aunts). These are all just details that I wrote down when I looked at it. So I don't know the types or posistions of the eagles as I forgot to write that down.
I love this gun, it give me sivers to hold it knowing that it is from WW2.
Any info is greatly appreciated!! More details to come. Thanks for any help.
