Hi Ted,

I do not think that there were actually any 1920 commercials with an Erfurt toggle. I see the pictures of the ones in the old books too. As discussed in another thread, it is my opinion that the actual 1920's as most people still refer to them, were of new manufacture. These OTHER guns, with Erfurt toggles and mis-matched parts, were probably, but I'm not positive, some sort of commercial gun. When and where they were assembled and by whom I'm not sure of. I seriously have my doublts that DWM ever sent Lugers to the United States for sale commercially that were made up of junk parts and left overs, and just thrown together. I think this great firm had more pride in there product and workmanship than that, as evidence by the 1920 Commercials and 1923 commercials of new manufacture. So there, what ya think of that?
