Default My brother's Luger

My brother was in the 101st Airborne in Germany during WW2. He captured a German soldier with a Luger and my brother brought the Luger home. On a recent visit, he showed it to me. On the grip strap is this I.D. B1T.S.3.237

I seek your informed knowledge of the unit from this Luger came.
